My Ceremony of 12

Hi people, Jonas here, thanks for coming back. Here's my next blog.

It's been four hours since the ceremony of twelve and I still haven't gotten over it. What is a ceremony, you say? Well, there's one ceremony every year and it happens in December, and it is for all children, and signifies the changing from one age to another, there are only tree noticeable ceremonies; one, nine and twelve, the last of the ceremonies. Each ceremony represents a different age group of the people.

The ceremony of one, is possibly the happiest and loudest of ceremonies. This is when newborns are given their names, and are given to their family unit.
The ceremony of nine is when the children are given a bicycle and the females have their hair ribbons removed. The council is being asked to give out bicycles  sooner, but by the time a change is made, we will all be in the house of the old.
On the ceremony of twelve, we are separated into our jobs, which will stay for life, and are instead of children, full citizens. On my ceremony of twelve, the announce skipped me, which does not happen, especially not at the ceremony of twelve, this scared me, as I believed that I had done something wrong, up until the point when everyone else had their jobs, and she told everyone what was happening to me, I was to be the next Receiver. This is a great honor, as the Receiver is the elder, to whom the other elders ask advice from.
