Hello, it's me again, thanks for reading the past blogs, and here's my third.
Today is my fifth day as the Receiver, and I have already received many memories, some good, some bad, thankfully most of which have been good. How do I receive memories? Well I myself am not sure of the exact way the memories are transmitted, but what I do know is the when the Giver (the old Receiver) places his hands on my bare back and concentrates on giving me the memory, I get it. Through this method I have received many memories, some of which are sledding down a hill in the snow (all of which do not exist in the present time), a rainbow (which allows me to finally see all the colors, yet another thing that does not exist in the present time) and a sunburn (which was my first introduction to all the pain I would soon feel.)
Yet even when I know of how much pain I am soon to endure, I could never go back to that world devoid of feelings, nor am I willing to give up the now memories simply for the pain, and hope to learn what The Giver was hearing, feeling of touching when he first got to have, instead of seeing-beyond.
